Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and motivation to bettering South African Social Security Company (SASSA) companies throughout an engagement using the agency's senior professionals at a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.

Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled during the 2024 matric exams.

Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% with the registered pupils within the education sector.

These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
